Principal's Message

Dear Kiel-Sisco Families,

 

Welcome to our school! Kiel-Sisco, which is housed in two buildings (preschool in the Sisco Building and kindergarten, first, and second grade in the Kiel Building), is a very special place to be thanks to our staff, students, families, and school community. As principal of Kiel School, I feel very fortunate to work each day with people who prioritize making our school a place where students feel safe, supported, and cared for; who make learning fun and engaging for our students; and who recognize that education is the key to a life full of opportunities and possibilities.

 

I came to Kiel School in July 2025, and was excited to return to working with students at the primary/elementary level. I have been a principal of all grade-levels pre-k through 8th grade in my time as an administrator. I joined the administrative team in Kinnelon in 2009 as principal of Pearl R. Miller Middle School, where I served in the 2009-2010 school year, as well as from July 2014-June 2025. I was principal of Stonybrook School from July 2010-June 2014, a time during which Stonybrook housed kindergarten in addition to grades 3, 4, and 5. Prior to coming to Kinnelon, I was principal of Midland School in Rochelle Park, New Jersey, which was a pre-k-8th grade school. Before that, I was an assistant principal at Sparta Middle School in Sparta, New Jersey, and I taught 6th grade science, social studies, and reading at Eric Smith Middle School in Ramsey, New Jersey. Throughout my time in education, I have been fortunate to work with, and learn from, a large community of excellent educators, and that continues today.

 

Each school year offers our students a new opportunity for growth and progress. On behalf of all of us at Kiel School, we look forward to partnering with you to make this school year a wonderful experience for your child.
