Counselor
Ms. Tinney began her journey as an education major at the University of Scranton. She graduated with a BA in Secondary Education and English. After a rewarding experience working with preschool children, she decided to pursue a Masters in Teaching to become certified to teach elementary school children. In 1996, Ms. Tinney joined the Kinnelon Public schools as a kindergarten teacher for five years and later a second grade teacher until June 2017. In May 2017, Ms. Tinney received her school counseling certification after graduating with a Masters of Education in Professional Counseling with a concentration in School Counseling. She received the Dean's Graduate Award for academic excellence from the Department of Education at William Paterson University. Over the past ten years, she has been involved in implementing and sustaining our district-wide Full Value character education model to support the students’ social and emotional needs as well as serving on the School Safety Team to monitor and improve school climate.
